The Darkroom is designed for use by people with visual impairment and is full of visual effect products. The bright and vivid colours allow the users to focus on shapes & light. The room features UV lighting, mobile UV toys, a passive bubble tube, a fibre optic curtain and much more!
A leaf chair has been installed in the corner to allow users to relax and take in the environment around them. LED downlighters have been included, which scroll through the colour spectrum when they are activated, along with the colour scrolling bubble tube this provides an extremely relaxing effect.
The room also features UV lights, and has been packed with UV sensitive products to create glowing areas of the room. It has a UV reactive fibre optic curtain on a swing arm to allow it to be easily accessible. The room also has a line lite mirror and UV reactive mobile toys.
A Solar 250 projector has been installed in the room which can either project onto the fibre optic curtain or (when the curtain is swung out of the way) can project directly onto a wall. The projector features interchangable wheels to provide an ever changing environment.
Other visual effects include the Sensory Technology LED Infinity Tunel and the Sensory Technology LED Panel. Both will either scroll through colours, or change colour as you tap the screen on them. On the LED Panel, as well as the bubble tube mirrors, we have installed curtains that can be pulled across. This allows the pupils to really focus their attentions on individual products, without the distraction of any of the others.
